If you are looking for a new way to do something, Zach can probably think it up. An extremely charismatic speaker, ceremonial events seem that much more special when Zach is the one emceeing them.

Why did you become a DJ?

I'm a musician, and I've always loved the power that music has to change someone's mood. I also like to help people have a good time, so it seemed a natural choice when at 19, I got a job as a DJ. Now that I'm in my early 30's, I still get a kick out of people responding to a song that they love to hear.


What is your favorite party song?

Since every crowd is different, I try to figure out what's going to bring the most people on the dance floor. One song that consistently gets more people moving than any other is "Shout" by Otis Day and the Knights. I also created the "Dance Craze" Icebreaker, a dance contest which lets the guests at the party make up their own dance moves. The crowd determines the winner and everyone has a blast with it.


Favorite DJ Memory:


At a recent wedding, a member of the brides family asked for Mambo # 5, which I didn't have with me. She had the song on cassette, but since we only have CD players, I couldn't play it. That's when she told me she had  a boom box in her hotel room. I asked her if she could go get it for me. When it came time to play the song, I explained to the crowd that it was a "special request" and that since most of them were my age, they probably remembered when they were teens, holding up the telephone to he speakers of the stereo so a friend could hear a song. Then, I help up the boom box and said, "This is going to be a little like that". I pressed play, held up my mic to the speaker.  Everyone cheered and flooded the dance floor. It was definitely an outside the box moment.


What does customer service mean to you?

As a seasoned DJ, I have a firm grasp on what's required to make an evening run smoothly and seamlessly, but I'm much more than just a guy who plays music. I've been a liaison for the facility when the temperature needed adjusting in the room, I've helped the family carry out gifts to their cars, I've gotten water for the bridal party as they were arriving on a hot day. If there's something a client or host asks of me that I can't deliver, I try to find someone who can. I'm not just there to be a DJ and emcee, I'm there to serve you.


What's your favorite part of being a Complete Music DJ?


There are about 50 DJs that work with CM. This variety affords all of the Djs here a chance to work with each other, get feedback, and discover new ways of doing old things. it also helps build a sense of comradely among us, because we feel like we're all in this together.and we do what we can to help build each other up. Having a support system like this is important, especially if a client wants particular DJ, but can;t get him because he's unavailable. We can recommend DJs that are a perfect fit for you and the type of event that you want.


Describe your DJ style:

Creative, Versatile, Professionally Flexible. As a creative DJ, I can work with you to make your event unique by putting a new spin on old standbys. But no matter what level of interactivity and creativeness you want, I will always bring you the highest level of professionalism available.


Fun Fact:

In addition to working as a comedian and musician, I am also a songwriter with over 100 songs to my credit. I'm currently working on my first rock opera, which I hope to have completed by the end of 2009.
